A New Year’s Poem

Twelve months lie before you each one yet unlived
A present from God He has generously given
365 days of complete unknown
In twelve months who will be here and who will be gone?
You make your plans but God directs your steps
Trust Him to bring you blessings and tests
Pain is a part of His love and His joy
Compassion should grow like a baby boy
It will all work together we’re promised someday
In the meantime accept come what may
Laughter interspersed makes the journey bearable
Hurts overpower as tears water the soil

God’s garden of your life will flourish if
You draw close to the Father that’s His wish
His blessed Holy Spirit will help you to cope
If the trials of life make you let go of the rope
Abba’s hand will catch you before you impact
With the rocks of despond, despair and regret
His Son died for you one day on a tree
But He now lives to give life to you and me
Take His free gift as a chance to start over
Whenever you feel the sense to recover
God’s mercies are new every morning each day
So open every one as a promised sweet bouquet

I'm a truck driver turned writer. My writing drives people to Jesus. I love sunsets/sunrises, dark chocolate, coffee, cats and dogs (as long as their owners pick up after them) and solitude. My relationship with God through Jesus Christ is most important to me, not a religion. This writing gig is all God's idea. I only wish to bring more attention to Jesus with it.
