After my encounter with a homeless man in January, which you can read about here, I began to think about ways Jesus shows up in everyday life. By keeping Matthew 25:31-46 in mind I came up with four scenarios.
Writing stories comes in many forms. Full length books are the most common way people think of. Short stories can be more challenging because you can’t explain backstory adequately. Fitting a story into a few lines of a song has to be the most challenging form of story to write. But when it works there’s magic to be found.
Here are four vignettes of ways Jesus shows up in life today. Actually, since nothing is wasted in God’s economy, there’s a fifth time Jesus shows up, too. I don’t think it’s too far of a stretch to see Jesus in ourselves as we’re helping others. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. Actually there’s everything right about it.
Romans 8:28-29 tell us that everything is working together to make us more like Jesus. So see Jesus in your actions as you attempt to fill the needs of those around you.
