Half Done But Not Over

Okay. Here’s the fact. 2019 is officially half completed. How are those New Years resolutions coming along?

What do you mean you don’t even remember what they were? Why did you ever bother making them in the first place if they weren’t really that important to you to begin with?

I guess that’s a mute point at this point. The year might be half done but it isn’t over. So you have six more months to reach your goals.

Or…since this is the exact halfway mark you can make some new half year resolutions…or half new resolutions anyway.

I don’t know. It’s your life you can do…or not do…what you want with it.

All I know for sure is my word for this year thus far must be wait. Cuz that’s what I’ve been doing for the past six months.

I was extremely close to signing a book deal only to have that pulled away at the last minute. The sale of the family farm just failed to materialize yet again. My love life is still lonely. But, I’m not overweight thanks to my income being so low.

I think I feel a good country song coming on here.

The Bible tells us that God’s mercies are new every morning. So you get six more months of new beginnings to look forward to.

Thank you. I needed that fresh slap in the face. I’m feeling better already.

July is the month I receive my new lease on my apartment. You thought I was going to say I get a new lease on life. Didn’t you?

You should know me better than that by now.

I have empty boxes I’ve accumulated over the past few years in anticipation of moving out of here. Yeah, I have more boxes than furniture. What’s it to you?

Fortunately most of the boxes are flattened down so they don’t take up much space…unlike some people I know who apparently make too much money.

They can throw some of that filthy lucre my way if it’ll help them out. Just sayin’.

Maybe…just perhaps…things will change in the next six months.

About half way through my next lease will make perfect sense. That way I’ll be forced to pay for this cramped space while I live in luxury in my next life.

All I know is this was a pretty good blog post for a guy who didn’t know what he was going to write about when he sat down to bleed on my computer screen in front of y’all.

Happy rest of 2019 to everyone.

I’ll see you later. Wade

I'm a truck driver turned writer. My writing drives people to Jesus. I love sunsets/sunrises, dark chocolate, coffee, cats and dogs (as long as their owners pick up after them) and solitude. My relationship with God through Jesus Christ is most important to me, not a religion. This writing gig is all God's idea. I only wish to bring more attention to Jesus with it.
