Monday, January 21, 2019 has a lot going for it to set it apart from all other days.
You probably slept through the first uniqueness. There was a Wolf Blood Moon last night/early this morning. A what…?
It was one of those full moons that comes quite close to the earth in its orbit. That makes it appear bigger than it usually looks. But then it was eclipsed by the earth, too. Say what…?
Yeah, there was a lunar eclipse last night. That’s when the earth’s shadow blocks the sunlight from reaching the moon because they’re in alignment. Rather than making the moon totally dark there was enough of a shadow to make the moon appear red rather than the blue cheese flavor it usually has.
No, I don’t know how that works. I’m just telling y’all what happened while you were voluntarily unconscious…aka sleeping.
Now, do you want to know what else today is? Well that’s too bad cuz I’m gonna let ya know anyway.
Today is squirrel appreciation day. I know you didn’t know there was such a day. That’s why I’m informing you about it. Now stop interrupting me and pay attention. The squirrels will appreciate it.
Those little daredevils that attempt to cross busy roads with their bushy trails covering their backs need some support for their efforts. No, I don’t know why the squirrel crossed the road, or attempted to at least.
Look, if you keep interrupting me this post will go on a very long time, so just read what I write without thinking.
God did give those bushy tailed rodents a purpose in the grand scheme of things. They bury acorns so acorn trees will grow. Yes, I know acorns come from oak trees. I’m just attempting to keep things on a level that over-thinkers can keep up with. Shall I go on now? Thank you.
Of course this is also Martin Luther King, Jr Day in the United States of America. I was just curious about how long that sentence would be if I spelled all that out.
The man best known for his efforts in the civil rights movement back in the 50’s and 60’s would be disappointed by things on that front today if he could see it now.
The guy who had a dream of equality for his children had a lot of gumption. Like most dreamers somebody thought he needed to be stopped. So He came to a tragic end by an assassin.
His dream should have still been realized, but it hasn’t been at this point.
One of the favorite quotes I’ve been seeing today is this one.
“Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that. Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that.” Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Let’s be the light and love that brings Martin’s dream into reality today.
Just don’t try too hard to avoid that pesky squirrel attempting to cross that busy road you’re driving on.
I’ll see you later. Wade
