HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS

Holidays come and holidays go. Christmas will be either a grand time of making new memories with family and friends or a great time of grief and suffering over losses in life.

Personally, this is my seventh Christmas waking up by myself but I’m never alone. My best friend is always with me. Jesus promised He will never leave me nor forsake me several times in the Bible.

As much as I cling to those promises it’s still difficult living solo in this world. Even God admitted that when He created the world.

With a week to go in 2018 it looks bleak financially right now, too. There’s a glimmer of a light in this dark tunnel. God is good all the time.

With all that being said I feel like I’m smack dab in the middle of God’s will for my life right now. He never promised days of financial success and complete health and happiness in this world. On the contrary, Jesus told us we’d have days filled with trials and hardships.

Fortunately Jesus completed His thought out loud by saying He has overcome this world. This is not all there is to life. Better days are coming for those who put their trust in Him.

I’ll continue to put one foot in front of the other until I’m called Home to Glory. There’s work for me to do to introduce people to Jesus, my best friend.

I don’t know what my marital status will be next Christmas. My bank accounts might be overflowing and my anonymity may be lost because of what God has me working on for His kingdom.

I always wonder if this will be my last Christmas of struggle and heartache.

If it isn’t I’ll still do all I can to build God’s kingdom while I’m on this earth. That’s why I’m still here. I want to please my heavenly Father in all I do.

He knows that. Fortunately, He accepts my faults and failures as part of my offering to Him. He has all of my frailty worked into His plan for my life.

I love that about Him.

Jesus is the reason I can call God my Father. He knows suffering, poverty, rejection and failure of friends. He loves me so much He died for me.

The book of Hebrews devotes itself to explaining Jesus in a way we can comprehend. He’s the fulfillment of the entire Old Testament.

The sacrifices pointed to His death.

The laws showed us His perfection.

The prophets foretold of His life…right down to the town He would be born in, even though His parents lived 90 miles north of there.

I hope you enjoy every second you get to spend with loved ones if that’s part of your day.

Just don’t lose focus of the real significance of what day this truly is. It’s the date on the calendar we set aside to remember God becoming one of us. Jesus was born to die for us because we can’t come to God on our own efforts.

Make time sometime during all the hustle and bustle to simply say…

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS

I’ll see you later. Wade

I'm a truck driver turned writer. My writing drives people to Jesus. I love sunsets/sunrises, dark chocolate, coffee, cats and dogs (as long as their owners pick up after them) and solitude. My relationship with God through Jesus Christ is most important to me, not a religion. This writing gig is all God's idea. I only wish to bring more attention to Jesus with it.
