Wednesday Was Epic

Wednesday, November 28, 2018 will go down officially as an epic day for Wade Webster.

Although there was some disappointment along the way it was still a day that was long overdue in many ways.

I’ve been posting here about why I decided to grow my beard out this winter season. I had a chance to appear as an extra in the TV series The Chosen.

I was hoping they were going to tell me they needed another disciple or something and that they were going to have to color my beard and hair black, but, alas, I’m still a gray beard.

I went to the set where they were recording that day but because of scheduling changes they didn’t need any extras then. It turned out to be a great experience anyway because I got to see so many behind the scenes things.

I don’t know what God has planned for this country bumpkin but I apparently needed to learn some things from behind the scenes more than I needed the experience of living a scene from the Bible.

The first WOW experience I got was seeing two replicas of first century fishing boats tied to the shore of Benbrook Lake. That’s where they were recording. Think Sea of Galilee near Ft Worth.

They shot scenes of Jesus calling Simon, Andrew, James and John to follow Him when I arrived. There’s some powerful stuff coming to the world around Easter next year. Stay tuned.

There were five of us investors on the set watching that day. That’s a perk we got for giving at least $1,000 to help fund this incredible phenomena.

You can still be a part of this, too. Just look up thechosen.tv to find the link to invest your money with them. They still need about three million dollars to complete the last four episodes for season one. Please invest. You won’t regret it.

Fortunately I’m bad with names because we aren’t supposed to tell anyone who they have playing the role of Jesus. There was something about a millstone and the boats and the lake if we tattled, I think. I was so awestruck by the whole experience I’m a bit fuzzy about those details…anyway.

That guy did come over between scenes and talk to us investors for a few minutes. That was a bit surreal. Here’s this guy dress up as the Savior of the world thanking us for being an important part of this whole event.

He said of all the sets he’s ever been on there’s never been such a sense of oneness and purpose as there is for The Chosen. I later learned that not all of the crew are born again. Hopefully that changes before they’re done.

The actor playing Jesus was sipping a cup of coffee as he talked with us. Before he left one of the crew took a picture with him and us. They promised to send us a copy after news got out about who this guy is.

As the actor sat down between our seats I said, “I will always have this image etched in my mind of talking to Jesus as he was holding a Dixie cup.”

Yeah, I had coffee with Jesus that day. How many people can make that claim?

They continued to record until almost midnight. I knew they were planning that so I set up a meeting that morning with a potential first client for my internet marketing company that’s been floundering for too many years now.

I later received an email that they were going to begin recording at 9:00am. That made for a long day. I missed the first few hours of shooting to keep the meeting, especially after they asked me who to make a check out to before we ever sat down.

I have a team of programmers at my disposal making a mobile app for the Dallas Black Firefighters Association. Now they’re building a website for them, too.

I showed them the first rendition of the app. We needed to see what they love about it and what they want added or changed on it so it can be completed.

The meeting went very smoothly. It was nice to have someone trust me like that. Most of the folks I’ve tried to do business with back out before they pull that financial investment trigger. I was beginning to think I wasn’t cut out for this business, until Wednesday.

That left me with just one thing to do between the meeting and the recording event. I had to stop at the bank and deposit a check for…yeah, you guessed it…$1,000.

I love it when God is into coincidental details like that.

I’ll see you later.   Wade

My relationship with God through Jesus Christ is most important to me, not a religion. This writing gig is all God's idea. I only wish to bring more attention to Jesus with it.
